Gorillas Among The Trees

They climb the trees
Moving with ease
Enjoying the coolness of the breeze
They innocently work through the day
Eating, climbing, sleeping in a peaceful way
Until we come along
Yelling, screaming and shooting
We do all the uprooting
We frighten and scare them
We sell and we wear them
We destroy this world of peace
With shameful ease
We kill them and remove there hide
We give there fur to the bride
The male gorilla
The silver back
Will come to try and help is pack
But again we just shoot him down
We leave him dead upon the ground
I do not think there is an excuse
For such horrible physical abuse
To these lovely creatures
Among the trees.
